Díaz regrets the "terrible news" of the death of a worker in Rentería

MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, lamented this Tuesday the "terrible news" of the death of a 49-year-old worker when he fell from a scaffolding this Monday in Rentería (Guipúzcoa).

"All my solidarity and support for the family and colleagues of the worker who died in Errenteria," Díaz posted on his Twitter account.

In her message, the head of Labor and Social Economy also recalled that protecting life and health in the workplace "is an inalienable obligation of companies and a fundamental right of every working person".

A total of 336 workers died in an occupational accident in the first five months of this year, 57 more than in the same period of 2021, which in relative terms implies an increase of 20.4%, according to the latest provisional data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
