Citizens ask the Government to strengthen logistical and military support to Ukraine

MADRID, 3 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ciudadanos Parliamentary Group has registered in the Congress of Deputies a non-law proposal (PNL) in which it urges the Government to reinforce logistical and military support for Ukraine in the war against Russia for debate in plenary session.

Specifically, it calls for redoubling its efforts in terms of sending military weapons to Ukraine, mainly in the field of anti-aircraft defenses, battle tanks and production lines, and financial assistance to promote the reconstruction of the country.

Among his stated reasons, he stated that the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dimitro Kuleba, reminded NATO partners that what the Ukrainian troops need is more weapons, alluding to the fact that the shipment of weapons has been "the big point turning point" that allowed the Ukrainians to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity against the invader.

"Unfortunately, not all political forces have shown the same commitment to freedom and international legality in Ukraine or to the security of our country," Ciudadanos added.

In this sense, the orange formation has criticized that "the PSOE's partners in the Government and the nationalist parties on which it relies to have parliamentary majorities have repeatedly voted against these necessary measures to put an end to the invasion and return Ukrainians peace and stability".

For this reason, the party led by Inés Arrimadas has regretted that, as of October 2022, Spain has only contributed 56 million euros in bilateral military assistance, far from the figures for Italy (150 million euros), France ( 216 million euros) or Germany (743 million euros).
