Carrefour's 30-euro list includes salt, flour, sunflower oil and sliced bread, among other products

MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Carrefour has included in its shopping list of 30 products for 30 euros products such as salt, flour, olive oil, cookies, coffee or sliced bread, among others, as published by the French multinational on its website.

The breakdown of the products on the company's list of 30 products at 30 euros occurs in the midst of the debate on the proposal of the second vice president and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, to establish a shopping basket for basic products with "frozen" prices.

The multinational has launched a selection of products that includes 30 different references, all of them from the Carrefour brand, and which also includes items such as peas, chicken broth or canned sweet corn, piquillo peppers, laminated mushrooms or meatballs in sauce.

Likewise, the list also includes hamburger buns, lemon tea drinks, orange, lemon and carrot juice, vinegar, ground coffee, corn cereals, peach jam or white chocolate.

Other non-food products included in this selection made by the French chain are toilet paper, detergent, dishwasher, scented bleach, window cleaner, toothpaste, compresses and also shower gel.

“At Carrefour we have a commitment to you, that is why we have created a measure with which you will be able to save every time you make your purchase,” explained the company, which indicated that the products that are part of this list are “present in any pantry " and they are of the Carrefour brand, "so the highest quality is guaranteed and they are offered at the lowest price on the market."

The company pointed out, in turn, that the price of each of the products will remain unchanged until January 8, 2023 and highlighted that each product on this list can be purchased individually.

Yolanda Díaz pointed out that the shopping basket of basic products with "frozen" or "limited" prices that she is demanding from large retailers must vary every week, include protein and fresh (fish, meat, fruit, eggs and vegetables), for celiacs and be available to families at least until after Christmas.

The second vice president and the Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón, met this Monday with the heads of distribution companies and consumer associations to address their initiative to seek an agreement to cap the prices of basic food products in the shopping cart.

Díaz has defended that his proposal to agree with large distribution and consumers a price cap on basic food products in the shopping basket is "perfectly legal", in the face of warnings from the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC).

Regarding their opinion on the basket presented by Carrefour, the ministers have remarked that from the Government they will not enter to make evaluations of the commercial offers of the companies. In addition, Díaz recalled that the company has promised to analyze the Government's proposal.
