Carolina Marín overcomes her debut at the Japan Open

MADRID, 31 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish Carolina Marín won her first match at the Japan Open on Wednesday, a Super 750 category tournament of the Badminton World Circuit, after beating the Chinese Yi Man Zhang in two games (21-19, 21-11).

The woman from Huelva thus returned to the competition with victory after falling last week in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo World Cup against the Japanese and number one Akane Yamaguchi, to qualify for the round of 16 where she will face the Danish Line Christophersen.

The six-time European champion had to battle especially in the first game against Zhang despite the fact that she started very well and came to enjoy a good initial lead (5-1). However, the Chinese knew how to reply to turn the score around and enter the decisive stretch with a good advantage (15-11).

That was when Carolina Marín knew how to demonstrate once again her strength and her ability to react to rebalance a game that was decided by her best mettle when she was down 18-19. The second game was somewhat more placid for the triple world champion who this time did not waste her good start (6-1).
