Braulio Medel "temporarily" resigns from the emeritus presidency of Unicaja Banco

MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Braulio Medel has "temporarily" resigned from the emeritus presidency of Unicaja Banco, a position that was assigned to him in 2016, but which he did not hold when he became president of the Unicaja Foundation, according to market sources reported to Europa Press.

Specifically, in 2016 Medel was appointed as president emeritus of the Malaga entity, after his resignation from the presidency of Unicaja Banco, although the measure did not become effective due to his appointment as president of the banking foundation, which currently controls 30 % Of the entity.

However, in mid-June of this year, Medel also resigned as president of the foundation, which gave free rein to his return to the bank as president emeritus. Since then, Medel has held this position, as he reminded the Unicaja Banco board in a letter sent just a few weeks ago; a responsibility that he has now temporarily relinquished.

According to the digital media 'La Información', which has advanced the news this Friday, this emeritus presidency has not been assigned any remuneration, but the possibility of using an office, a vehicle and a driver.

This communication has been sent to the bank's board of directors, meeting this Friday, in which the reconfiguration of its support commissions has been agreed, according to the notification sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), as well as the designation of Carolina Martínez Caro as coordinating director in substitution of María Luisa Arjonilla López.
