Bolaños reproaches Feijóo for excusing himself in Delgado to block the CGPJ and after resigning he says that it is "more of the same"

MADRID, 21 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of the Presidency and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, reproached this Thursday the leader of the opposition, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for excusing himself from the former State Attorney General Dolores Delgado for not renewing the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ ) and now that he has resigned for health reasons, he says that "it's more of the same".

"Yes, the attitude of the PP catches my attention because last Sunday there was an interview with Feijóo who said that it is impossible for us to reach an agreement regarding the General Council of the Judiciary because everything is prevented by the attorney general. Two days later, Dolores Delgado resigns for health reasons and says that nothing has changed, that it is more of the same," he explained in an interview on Radio Nacional, collected by Europa Press.

Bolaños sees in this attitude of the PP a "lack of recognition of the electoral defeat" and has described Feijóo as an "encyclopedia of excuses". "There is no attorney general that they like, except that he is appointed by the PP", he has stressed, at the same time that he has stressed that they are only asked to comply with the law.

Regarding the appointment of the new state attorney general, Álvaro García Ortiz, who today has to ratify the CGPJ, he hopes that "it is logical to say that the appointment is suitable." "It meets the requirements established by law and I don't think it will go any further," added the minister, who has assured that the attorney general is "absolutely impeccable."

Bolaños has not commented on Delgado's future and, specifically, on the possibility of being a prosecutor for the Democratic Memory Chamber. That yes, he has lamented the "fierce criticism" that he has received during his mandate and has added that he should continue with his work within the Prosecutor's Office "where appropriate" and within what the state of health of he allows it.

Finally, regarding the renewal of the magistrates of the Constitutional Court, he recalled that the CGPJ has until September 13 to appoint the two that correspond to them by quota. "We are going to go exhausting stages and I hope that the members of the CGPJ comply with the law", he has sentenced.
