He explained that the King and Sánchez go to Catalonia with “absolute normality”

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of the Presidency, Relations with Parliament and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, has indicated that the Princess of Girona Foundation Awards could be delivered “tomorrow” in the city where its headquarters are located and not in Barcelona, where it will be held this year for the third time. In this sense, he explained that both King Felipe VI and the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, go to Catalonia with “absolute normality”.

The Princess of Girona Foundation Awards (FPdGi) will be awarded for the third consecutive edition in Barcelona and will be held between the end of June and the beginning of July. From the foundation they have ensured that in Girona, where the institution’s headquarters are located, they do not have a space with accessibility as required by the technical and capacity conditions of the awards.

“I think they could be delivered tomorrow, but the organizers decide that it is better to do it in Barcelona, it is their decision and I deeply respect it,” the minister said in an interview on Onda Cero, collected by Europa Press.

Bolaños has called to remember the visits of the President of the Government and the Monarch to Catalonia after the month of October 2018. “Now the King and the President go to different places in Catalonia with absolute normality,” he stressed.

The Minister of the Presidency has assured that the unilateral declaration of independence and the two connection laws were made “with a PP Government that had a catastrophic management where all the bridges and affections were broken”.

“Everything was broken”, he emphasized, while qualifying that the sole responsibility was not the PP, but that “independence led Catalan society to the precipice”. “We inherited a very complicated situation,” he emphasized.

Thus, he has indicated that with dialogue in the Government he is weaving “the affections” and normalizing the situation in Catalonia. “We want to bet on dialogue and reunite Catalans with each other and Catalan society with the rest of Spain”, added the PSOE minister.

In relation to the meeting that Sánchez and the Catalan president, Pere Aragonés, agreed to have, he has assured that they do not have the date because they are waiting to balance the agendas. Thus, he has predicted that everyone, including the Generalitat, has an interest in dialogue and has warned that whoever does not have it and prefers tension, “explain it”.
