Bitcoin deflates after hitting $25,000 this Monday

MADRID, 16 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Bitcoin, the best-known cryptocurrency, deflates this Tuesday after breaking above the $25,000 (24,676 euros) level earlier in the week, reached after the launch of a BlackRock investment product with exposure to cryptocurrency.

Specifically, at 11:30 each bitcoin was exchanged for 24,093 dollars (23,780 euros), while the second best-known cryptocurrency, ethereum, was sold at the same time for 1,891 dollars (1,866 euros), although it exceeded 2,000 dollars. (1,974 euros) on Sunday.

These rises come after the world's largest asset manager, BlackRock, launched an investment product with exposure to bitcoin, through a private trust that seeks to replicate the price of the largest cryptocurrency and that "responds to the demand for large institutional clients seeking exposure to the asset".

Cryptocurrencies have not stopped losing value since they reached maximum levels in November, entering what is known in the industry as a crypto winter and that has resulted in thousands of layoffs and even the retention of investor funds by some platforms. .

In fact, the last time bitcoin touched $25,000 was in May, and ethereum even dipped as low as $900 in mid-June, less than a quarter of its high value.
