Belarra regrets that the summit with Morocco consolidates the "unilateral turn" of the PSOE regarding the Sahara

MADRID, 2 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, has assured that the summit between Spain and Morocco means "consolidating" the turn on Western Sahara that the PSOE undertook unilaterally, after President Pedro Sánchez endorsed the autonomy plan for the area raised by Rabat.

In statements to the media after visiting the facilities of the animal protector ALBA, in Madrid, he reiterated that the assessment of his training on the result of the High Level Meeting (RAN) is "public and notorious", which is why the Ministers of United We Can have been absent from this appointment.

"We think that this summit comes to consolidate a shift in Spain's position on the Sahara, a shift that the PSOE carried out unilaterally and we already said that the conditions for our participation did not exist", summarized Belarra, who declined to assess that the King of Morocco has not met with Pedro Sánchez.

Unidas Podemos expressed its direct rejection of the letter from the president last March endorsing the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara, believing that it was the most "solid and realistic" basis for resolving the conflict.

In fact, the confederal space stressed its commitment to the self-determination of the Saharawi people, through a referendum, defending that it is the way to solve the conflict, in compliance with UN resolutions.
