BBVA issues a five-year preferred senior bond

MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

BBVA has returned to the market this Monday with the issuance of a five-year preferred senior bond, with which it hopes to raise 1,000 million euros.

The exit type is 'midswap' plus 140/145 basis points and the titles will be listed on the Euronext Dublin.

The placement banks are BBVA, HSBC, ING, Natixis, UBS and UniCredit.

The operation was contemplated in BBVA's annual issuance plan and will be used to finance increased commercial activity, as well as to preserve the bank's MREL position.

In 2022, BBVA has carried out three public debt issues: a senior non-preferred debt issue for a total of €1,000 million, a senior preferred debt issue, in two tranches, for a total volume of €1,750 million, and another non-preferred senior debt in two tranches, issued in dollars. Likewise, it has carried out several private issues of preferred senior debt, for a total amount of 865 million euros.
