Batet asks that everything possible be done to reverse the complaint of the victims of 17-A who say they do not feel accompanied

BARCELONA, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Congress of Deputies, Meritxell Batet, has opted for working to accompany the victims of terrorism on the fifth anniversary of the Barcelona and Cambrils (Tarragona) attacks: "I think that enough is never done, more is always needed things, more institutional and social care".

In an interview this Wednesday on Catalunya Ràdio collected by Europa Press, he stressed that there have been "legal advances, important laws" to protect the victims, and added that it should be seen how they are applied.

Batet says that everything possible should be done to reverse the complaint of the victims who say they do not feel accompanied

"When I hear the voices of victims who say that they do not feel accompanied, this reality must be accepted, it cannot be questioned, and everything possible must be done to reverse it," the president of the lower house has claimed.

He has argued that Spain is better prepared to react to situations like this, specifically the State security forces and bodies, after which he has valued the cooperation between the different police forces.

Asked if an investigative commission should be opened in Congress on 17-A, Batet has replied that the initiative corresponds to the parliamentary groups, and has defended that the Chamber makes a solemn act on June 27 in recognition of the victims, coinciding with the day on which the Day of the Victims of Terrorism was approved by law.
