At least ten people have died in the Afghan province of Logar, in the east of the country, as a result of the floods caused by torrential rains on Saturday, according to the Taliban spokesman for the province, Omar Mansur.

According to Taliban officials, the floods caused by the storms have affected the eastern provinces of Paktia and Khost, leaving significant damage in their wake, as reported by the Jaama news agency.

Figures from the Taliban government's Ministry for Disaster Management suggest that at least 180 people have been killed and more than 200 injured as a result of natural calamities over the past week in various regions of Afghanistan.

Likewise, the spokesman for the Ministry for Natural Disaster Management, Sharaf al Din Muslim, said at a press conference on Saturday that in the last year more than 1,500 people have died and more than 3,000 people have been injured as a result of natural disasters. .
