Arrested in Guadalajara a fugitive claimed in Peru as the author of 10 murders

He was part of the 'Death Squad', an illegal group of the National Police of Peru

MADRID, 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Agents of the National Police have arrested in Guadalajara a fugitive wanted in Peru for the commission of ten murders when he was part of an illegal group of the National Police of Peru dedicated to gaining promotions and decorations for its members through the extrajudicial execution of criminals.

The arrested person is a former non-commissioned officer of the National Police of Peru, claimed internationally for participating in ten murders carried out by the 'Death Squad' group.

As reported by the National Police in a statement, the investigation began when the agents received a request for collaboration from the judicial and police authorities of Peru, through the OCN INTERPOL Madrid. It was then that they began to take steps to find out the whereabouts of a fugitive.

Finally, the agents concluded that he lived with his family in Guadalajara, so last week he was arrested in the surroundings of his home and, later, he was made available to the National Court.

The Peruvian authorities have explained that the illegal group was dedicated to capturing informants who, paid by the organization, encouraged low-level criminals to commit crimes such as kidnappings or millionaire robberies. Later, they leaked this information to the police group.

Thus, the agents surprised the criminals to shoot them down, later indicating that the shootings had been the product of "risky confrontations."
