MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The National Court (AN) judge who is investigating the sending of a series of explosive letters to different institutions has agreed to open a new line of investigation in the case to carry out a series of investigations of a technological nature.

Legal sources have explained to Europa Press that the head of the Central Investigating Court Number 4, José Luis Calama, has opened a separate secret piece within this procedure, which began last November.

Since then, the magistrate has investigated the sending of a series of letters that contained pyrotechnic material. One of them was sent to the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, on November 24, after the services of the Security Department of the Government Presidency, in the tasks of screening and filtering correspondence, detected a suspicious postal shipment. It was an envelope addressed to the President of the Government that had been sent by ordinary postal mail.

Due to its characteristics and content, this envelope would be similar to those received by the Ukrainian Embassy and the United States Embassy in Madrid, by the Instalaza company in Zaragoza, by the Torrejón Air Base and by the Ministry of Defense.

Within the framework of this case, Judge Calama took a statement on December 22 from those responsible for security of the agencies that received a series of explosive letters. These, according to legal sources indicated to this news agency, corroborated before the magistrate the version that they offered to the Police, and that included specific details about the appearance of the packages.

The instructor took statements that day, specifically, from those responsible for security at the Presidency of the Government, security technicians from the Ministry of Defense, the head of Security at the US Embassy in Madrid, the security guard at the Embassy of Ukraine at the who exploited the letter and the members of the security service of the European Union Satellite Center based in Torrejón.

After this round of statements, the magistrate still has to take a statement from the worker of the Zaragoza Instalaza company, who also received an explosive letter.
