Air Force planes fly over Madrid in a rehearsal for the parade on October 12

MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The aircraft of the Air Force have crossed the sky of Madrid this Friday in a rehearsal for the parade of the National Holiday Day, next October 12.

The fighter planes, transport planes or helicopters of the Spanish Air Force have flown over the sky of the capital between 10:30 and 11:30 this Friday to have everything ready for the air parade in which they will participate in two weeks.

Military sources have revealed to Europa Press that there will be a second rehearsal, already with all the aircraft and for the final route, next Wednesday, October 5.

Traditionally, the military parade on October 12 opens with the air parade, which this year could include among its novelties the participation of the new Pilatus teaching plane with which the students of this course at the Academy of San Javier are already instructed. .

In its last edition, a total of 2,656 troops, 68 aircraft and 115 vehicles participated in the parade for the National Holiday.

This year the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, confirmed in an interview with Europa Press that the parade would be held again in Madrid and in its usual location on the Paseo de la Castellana. The presidential gallery occupied by the Kings is located at the height of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

In addition, members of the Government come, led by the president, Pedro Sánchez, who is already routinely greeted with whistles by the citizens who come to see the Armed Forces parade.

The format of this celebration was only altered in 2020 due to the pandemic, when the parade had to be abolished and the event was commemorated with a military act held in the Royal Palace Armory Courtyard.
