ACS will replace Juan Santamaría with Pedro Vicente at the head of Cimic after being appointed CEO of the group

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

ACS will appoint Pedro Vicente, current Executive Director of Operations at Cimic, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this Australian subsidiary, after its current top executive, Juan Santamaría, has returned to Spain to lead the group chaired by Florentino Pérez.

According to market sources confirmed to Europa Press, Santamaría will nonetheless continue to be executive president of Cimic, a position that he will combine with that of CEO of ACS, while Vicente will only hold the position of CEO of Cimic.

This movement, anticipated by 'The Australian Financial Review', occurs after the Public Offer of Acquisition (OPA) launched by Hochtief, the German subsidiary of ACS, to acquire 100% of the shares of Cimic, a transaction that has culminated successfully and which has led to its exclusion from the Stock Exchange, an objective that ACS had set itself to simplify its corporate structure.

Vicente was appointed Executive Director of Operations of Cimic last March, when he was General Manager of Leighton Asia, another of the group's subsidiaries, which he joined in 2015 as Executive Director in the Southeast Asia and India region.

Previously, Vicente also worked for ACS as Director of Dragados Projects, Vice President and Director of Operations of this same subsidiary in Canada, or in Australia. The executive is a civil engineer for roads, canals and ports and has a master's degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
