Abascal accuses Sánchez of being "subjected" to the interests of Brussels and Morocco

MADRID, 8 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, accused the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on Wednesday of being "subjected" to the interests of Brussels, Morocco or even Germany and has demanded that he regain "sovereignty" to defend the interests of the Spaniards.

Abascal has focused on energy dependence, "climate fanaticism" and "globalist elites" in his speech at the plenary session of Congress in response to Sánchez's appearance, convened to explain the change in position on Western Sahara and the extraordinary European Council held last week.

Precisely, the leader of Vox has disfigured the head of the Executive who feels "at home" in the European institutions, "surrounded by so much pomp and pageantry", but instead does not dare to "look in the face" to the Spaniards to account for their policies.

"That is the great political split of our times, the social division," he has reproached, accusing members of the Government of being "classist" for their energy policies and even a large part of the Parliament that approved the Climate Change Law, which Vox labels as "climate fanaticism".

"The Socialist Party has neither the 'o' nor the 'e' left, neither Obrero nor Español," Abascal accused, claiming that the economic problems cannot be blamed only on the pandemic or the war in Ukraine. "Enough of throwing balls out and childish pretexts, it is your progressive, dependent policies that have led to this situation. Stop grabbing Putin like a straw," he demanded.

He has also reproached Sánchez for his attitude towards Morocco: "Normal that they receive him with honors after assaults on the border that have had no cost to them, of 'Pegasus', of the energy suicide and the gift of the Sahara".

In addition, he has demanded that Morocco recognize "once and for all" Spanish sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla and commit to the repatriation of illegal Moroccan immigrants in Spain "and of all criminals of Moroccan nationality in prisons ".
