51 years ago, said the queer population in the united STATES that enough was enough, and decided to fight back against a police and the community continuously pressed the queer down. What would become known as the Stonewall uprising is, in many ways, what we regard as the beginning of the modern queer movement in the West and why we celebrate Pride.
In the front line stood the black and brown transkvinner shoulder to shoulder with the other queer. Half a century later is transgender worse an than lesbians and gays, even in Norway.
When sexual orientation was taken in the paragraph about hate crimes, gender identity and gender expressions omitted. Until 2016 had transgender neuter themselves in order to be able to change the legal gender.
Each of transgender is also heavily criticized, ressurssvakt and cannot serve the growing volume transgender who want treatment. A volume that increases with the visibility and recognition that many have painted a big bullseye on themselves to get to.
Price to be a visible advocate for better transrettigheter in today's Norway is that you have to live with a flood of negative reactions. Derogatory comments, threats, dirty attacks, allegations of grooming, and in the worst you can get pictures of their children used without consent in an attempt to ties. Not only in the comments section but also in the chronicles and public records.Stands out as a transperson
I personally have experienced all of the above, from known and less known actors in the Norwegian public, and it has increased in recent years. You need to be in constant defense, at the same time as you guard every single letter. The most important thing is not what you actually said, but rather how wild it can be interpreted and passed on, before the others start to believe it without the source.
No people are without fault, it also applies to the transgender. But to continuously have to ensure they are perceived as "perfect", otherwise it is taken to the income for the whole group is faithful to the same, is exhausting.
It is easy for me to understand that several of those few who regret coming out as trans, going back in the closet again just because there was too much discrimination and hatred. My life, outwardly, had been a good deal simpler if I were not trans, but the mental burden of being in the closet had been far worse than anything a random transfob manage to diske.
Motdebattantene discussing something they look for inside their head, a fictitious group they ascribe to some weird intentions and thoughts. They can let tankeeksperimentet wander, for they are not trans.
For a transperson it is our life, our body and our mind there is to talk about. It is quite special to discuss whether I exist, whether I should have the right to be recognized and to and with what do I want to go to the.
Even more strange is it to see people I don't know share their views that I referred to as my mom, a woman and a lesbian. That random people, without any form of experience or professional knowledge within the theme, may well claim that they know better than the experts, researchers, professionals and transgender himself, appears not only strange, but also ridiculous.Nils had just been man when he learned that he was pregnant Dagbladet Plus
My identity and body , because it is different than the majority, is open for debate. Without that I would like it even, and no authority is good enough to change the views of such people.
Transgender most people have more than enough with its own kjønnsprosess and the challenges that accompany it to be trans, then it can be time-consuming and difficult enough, and the only thing that it affects is the person himself.
What does it do well up that Karsten has been Petra and is referred to as the lesbian because she is attracted to women? What does it do well that Thomas may be pregnant, when the most important thing is that the pregnancy goes well and the child is taken good care of?
It is perhaps something you might think is strange, because it falls outside the norm, but that doesn't make it wrong because of it.
the Topics debated about the us, is often far from the reality we live in. Many people are afraid of changing rooms and public toilets, as this often is an arena in which we are extra vulnerable to harassment and derogatory comments. Part fear to come out of the closet whatsoever due to negative attitudes among family and friends.PRIDE: Christine Marie Jentoft first in the Pride parade. Photo: Hedda Marie Westlin Show more
getting out is also not a thing you only do once, but rather something we must do again and again in the course of his life. New fling? Doctor's appointment? New student in the class? Grandmother so not Facebook-the post where you came out as a man? Parent-in-law? New boss? New colleague? Transfobisk employee and you need to talk with HR? Stand ready, for you may come out of the closet once again, even many years after you actually came out. Even you often don't want to come out as trans, but rather be perceived as the gender they consider themselves.
Often it ends up that you have to explain the whole concept of the trans, and take some well-meant, but nevertheless ugreie, comments. All this while all the time afraid of to be rejected, ridiculed or worse.
It is important to emphasize that the vast majority of this country is positive or neutral to transfolk. There are plenty of allies that keeps us up as best they can, and make a good effort to support us and contribute to a less biased Norway.Accused: - Love is not transgender
It is not to stick under the chair that the attacks I have received the last half decade the public debate has done evil. Threats such as "Kill All the Transgender" is not balm for the soul. To see the reviews be dismissed and the complainant to the Commission the Professional Range is thrown with the reason that I have black transfobenes op-eds, lead me to think that there is little point in saying so.
Had it not been for a wonderful family, great friends, a totally awesome queer movement and the messages from the unknown that comes with it, so I had perhaps not wanted. It is this response that lifts up more than kjipe people manage to take down, thankfully.
I hope we can steer the public debate in a more constructive direction, which is all about the actual challenges transgender living with today. These challenges include a lack of legal protection, lack of health care system and general knowledge in the community. To take these debates before fantasidebatter about what transgender can find on if we get more rights, will lead to the fact that we finally can get us further.
It has been 51 years since Stonewall, there is a long enough time that people should start to realize that transgender is mostly like the other people, with dreams and interests that extend far beyond the desire to live as their authentic selves.
I want other people to go 20 years before they dare to come out, and that they should not have to fight to keep the identity later, as I have done. No one expects you to be able to all about trans, but we should be able to expect recognition of the right gender, the right name and pronouns, so we can get a transtastisk Pride!from Where comes the hate from?
