Sandefjord made it a serious strike against the teachers ' freedom of expression. Earlier in our went teacher Marius Andersen out in Sandefjords blad and directed strong criticism against the school's operations in the city. Andersen described a school strongly affected by the standardization and performance management, where there was little tolerance for dissent and where teachers duknakket performed the tasks that were imposed on them from above. Now it's emerged that Skolelederforbundet in the aftermath of the post called in to a meeting with other Engineers and oppvekstsjefen in the municipality in order to get the "end of this kind of writings", as His Gøran Birch, head of Skolelederforbundet in san francisco, says to Klassekampen.
There is a dramatic attempt knebling of a team of professionals that the public is best served with to hear from. The debate about what kind of strategies and values that should govern education to Norwegian children, is just as important as it is fierce, characterized by strong ideological disagreements. Målstyringsfilosofien for the school has been strongly contested, with fervent supporters as well as sharp critics. It is imperative that the group of professionals who have first-hand experience with how such governance works in practice, i.e. the teachers, can share their experiences.
Birch claims that Andersen keeps on with, "criticism of our teachers". This is a clean hersketeknikk. Anyone who reads Andersen's posts will understand that what he is criticizing is the working conditions teachers work under, and a fryktkultur that makes that many find it difficult to say. This characteristic have greater credibility for the one that looks at a different issue from the municipality of Sandefjord, where the teacher Hanne Westrum Hvammen wrote critically about BIs skolelederkurs on Facebook, after having participated in the course. She told later that management had given her the choice to delete the post and lose your job.Turn On the LydErrorAllerede plus customer? It would be interesting to read any posts from teachers who disagree with Andersen, but Skolelederforbundets attacks appear just as a disclaimer, and a brash attempt to pretend that the criticism against a powerful coalition is the same as criticism of a hardworking team of professionals.
the Story from Sandefjord reminiscent of similar stories from the Oslo school, where the teachers who expressed themselves critically about målstyringsideologien felt to be beaten down hard. Such teachers deserve a strong defense from anyone who is concerned about freedom of speech and open debate, regardless of whether you agree with them in the case or not.there is trouble on the governance of the Oslo-school Comment You can submit your article and opinion piece in Dagbladet here
