Three concrete measures for integrating women in management in organizations

Françoise Derolez and Marie-Laetitia Gourdin, co-chairs of the network, the Paris Professional Women's Network, provide three strong measures to advance gender equality.

The year 2020 marks a turning point for equality between women and men, a common base universal that we have the responsibility to promote collectively. There is no longer a need to demonstrate that the balance of women and men in companies, organizations, and everywhere in society is a source of performance, innovation, and positivity. The crisis has proved that we can make radical changes, and it has opened up opportunities. Let us be the artisans of a profound change for a more just society. At the time when the new government prepares a stimulus plan in history, the network Professional Women's Network Paris, offers three concrete and strong measures to ensure that the mixing of the sexes finally become a reality.

Strengthen the place of women at the top through quotas progressive

The presence of women in the executive bodies of companies has increased but is still insufficient. The numbers are clear : there is no woman in the general direction of a company in the CAC 40 and, according to the latest list of winners of the SBF 120, the rate of feminisation of the executive committees is only just over 21%, while the rate of feminization of the boards of directors and surveillance, prompted by the law Copé-Zimmermann, reached 45% in 2019. We therefore call on the government to pursue its objective of introducing quotas for the executive committees, in a progressive manner, in increments each year, reaching 40% of women as early as 2024. Such an objective should be doubled to a generalization of the index Equality of the law Pénicaud to all businesses, from all sectors, regardless of the number of employees or turnover; it should be included in the key indicators of the company.

Use the training continues to accelerate the access of women to decision making positions

We invite the government to support women's access to positions of governance and decision-making by better utilization and easier access to training executive through the Personal Account of Formation (CPF) and OPCA. This would address the reluctance of many businesses by dramatically increasing the pool of women capable of taking this type of position. Women should be able to benefit from these courses as a matter of priority in order to achieve the 50% representation in governance bodies private.

Expand telework and to establish a leave parenting

The companies must learn the lessons of the crisis and organize the implementation of telework for the employees who so wish, when this is possible. We also recommend instituting a leave parenting fair within the couple, with a guaranteed salary to 100% during the period.
