The european Union to extend economic sanctions against Russia for half a year

The member states of the European Union's (EU) economic sanctions against Russia by six months until January 31, 2021. That is, the European Council announced Monday.

The decision to do so is on the 19th of June, was taken, and when the leaders of the countries of the EU, the consultation had before. The penalties were issued in 2014 set because of the support of the Moscow-pro-Russian rebels in the Ukraine.

European leaders have decided that the peace plan of Minsk still has not been fully implemented". Disciplinary action may be associated with its implementation, which is at the end of 2015 and it had to be done.

Every six months or so is to see if there was a change in the come up with. As long as this is not the case, and the action is again extended by six months.

The sanctions are specifically directed against the financial, energy and defense sectors.
