Inger Merete Hobbelstad writing in the Newspaper 11. June that J. K. Rowling should not be criticised for his statements about transgender. But the sting of that transkvinner is not the same as "real women" and that they therefore do not deserve the same place in the likestillingskampen, provides nourishment to the discriminatory attitudes and systems that transgender must live in.

Rowling says she would be demonstrated with transgender if they were exposed to discrimination, and says thus implied that such discrimination does not exist as of today. Hobbelstad embellish rowling's statements when she omits this specification.

Hobbelstad mentions only in passing that Rowling has received criticism that she supported Maya Forstater. Forstater tvitret that she was surprised that the "smart people" "turn the knot on themselves in order to avoid to say the truth that men can't be women".

Forstater had not renewed jobbkontrakten because she refused to refer to people with the pronoun they wanted, and expressed himself deliberately insulting. An "employment tribunal" concluded that the statements were harmful to the transpersoners dignity because they appeared "threatening, hostile, offensive or humiliating".

rowling's support to Forstater is essential to understand why many criticize the author.

Forstater and rowling's statements reinforces the myth that transseksualitet not really exist and legitimizes thus the discrimination against this group.

If we are going to take a settlement with suppression of minorities, it is not enough to support the demonstrations. We also have to go in ourselves. Word and action have consequences, especially from a such a prolific person like J. K. Rowling. We have even heard discussions that rowling's statements that it concluded that “to change sex, is not the same as wanting to switch art?”, so to ridicule the idea that there are several kjønnsidentiteter.

Why is problematic when Rowling is critical of an article that referred to “people who are menstruating”, rather than to call them “women”. The former is a term which is intended to facilitate non-binary and transmenn who are menstruating, and refuse to seek treatment in gynecological examinations. Rowling's dislike of the wording showed once again that she has a narrow definition of “woman”.

A society where transgender feel himself equal, requires that we speak in a way that makes that transgender feel included. It is entirely appropriate that Rowling criticised for saying that gender (English: “sex”) is erased out of to include the transgender.

We stand for the feminism that is based on solidarity across essensialistisk and certainly identitetspolitikk. Today's rettighetskamper shows precisely the need to recognize people for who they are and want to be.

Rowling writes that her life has been shaped by being a woman. But to include transkvinner does not take anything away from her experiences. That there are biological gender, is often used as a sort of contrast to that, there are several kjønnsidentiteter, or as an argument that biological gender is more important.

With this mindset will never transkvinner be equal, therefore we have to take a settlement with such attitudes.
