The French industry of the cinema of animation is the third largest in the world and employs some 5,000 people, of which 80% are working, with the status of intermittent. The Goblins, the specialist

"Traditionally, the Gobelins and Supinfocom-Rubika are at the top of the rankings, because they are the oldest: they, respectively, have been created in 1963 and 1987, and are still possessing a strong reputation," says Isabelle Teissedre, head of the Ecole supérieure des métiers artistiques (Esma) Montpellier.

His reputation also comes from its status as a consular. The school depends on the chamber of commerce and industry (CCI) of the Ile-de-France. "We are close to all the professionals of the sector. This allows us to be reactive in relation to their requests and to guarantee our students a good professional integration", underlines Moïra Marguin, head of the film department of the animation of the Goblins.

Side recruiters, Anthony, Combeau, director of the studio for 2 Minutes, to Paris, believes that "the graduates of the Gobelins have complete profiles: they are both good technicians and good artists". For Caroline Mice, co-founder of the production company Teamto, the force of the establishment comes from his specialization in film animation, with all the trades. The Goblins offer training of the designer and director of animated films in four years, are accessible after the bac for at least 25 years, but also other curriculum in this specialty, open to different levels and with shorter durations.

Supinfocom-Rubika, the challenger

Supinfocom-Rubika enjoys both a strong reputation and a good reputation. For Caroline Mouse, this school is "general the Goblins, but the art culture there is less pressure, because the students focus on their film project".

The school is accessible after the bac, a curriculum in five years. After as a chamber of commerce, the Grand-Hainaut, Supinfocom-Rubika is today under private status, even if it remains majority-owned by the TCC.

The facility focuses on the realization of cartoons in three dimensions (such as Ice Age, Shrek...), rather than in two dimensions (The lion King, the Princess and The Frog...), unlike the Goblins, who have chosen to develop both.
