Zapatero charges against Feijóo for sowing doubts in voting by mail and asks to "respond to insidiousness" at the polls

It leaves the thousand seats of Emilio Gavira de Alcázar de San Juan small and claims that the PSOE ended ETA and "pacified Catalonia"

ALCAZAR OF SAN JUAN (CIUDAD REAL), July 15 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former president of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has charged harshly against the PP and its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, due to the doubts sown in the electoral process and questioning the vote by mail, an extreme before which he has asked voters to go out and vote on Sunday and "respond to insidiousness" at the polls to silence "those who raise suspicions not about postmen, but about all Spaniards."

At a rally in Alcázar de San Juan, where he has supported the candidate for Ciudad Real and government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, Zapatero has abounded that now, the PP is "moving further to the right", and if before they went to the center, now they sail towards Vox. The problem of the extreme right, in his opinion, does not reside in Vox, but in the Popular Party itself, "which endorses the issues that the extreme right champions in the world."

In his opinion, one of the strategies is to "question the institutions" and now the electoral process, something that is "one of the most serious things that has happened in a democracy", since for 45 years elections have always been "fair". . "They already tried it in the municipal ones." For this reason, he has asked "all democrats" to respond to Núñez Feijóo at the polls.

The PP's strategy is in this line, as he has said, from the first day that Pedro Sánchez came to government, when they began to call him "squatter president".

What he feels most proud of, he said, is being a "PSOE militant", something that is an "immense pride", since it is the only party that has represented "democracy" in Spain.

"We are the great party of the Spain of democracy, of all, I have come to defend the joy of living in a progressive Spain, of freedoms, admired in Europe and recognized in the world," he asserted.

As leader of the opposition, Pedro Sánchez "supported Mariano Rajoy" in the application of article 155 of the Constitution in Catalonia; in the same way that he in his Presidency offered Mariano Rajoy himself a pact to end terrorism.

Now, "history repeats itself" with issues that are not "right or left, but loyalty to Spain." "Those who accuse others of lying the most are the ones who tell the least truth," he told the PP.

"They do not hesitate to use any insult to attack the Government when the one who has most strengthened the unity of Spain is the PSOE, with the end of terrorism and in Catalonia," he added.

He recalled that Feijóo told Pedro Sánchez: "You are more generous with the executioners than with the victims", and now the entire "campaign has been hearing that ETA is alive", at which point he has once again claimed that with his government, the terrorist group ceased its activity.

And, now, "under the Government of Pedro Sánchez is when Catalonia has been pacified", as he has defended.

On the 'popular' mantra of "repealing Sanchismo", he considers that "it is the only thing that has occurred to them because they have an imagination equal to zero, that of attacking the president of the Government for what his name is".

A government that also "has raised the minimum wage" and 2023 drags a semester "with the best job creation in history."

"And, without Kitchen, nor Gurtel and without Bárcenas, because with this government there has been decency", has maintained Zapatero, who has also criticized Núñez Feijóo in his position on gender violence. "When he talks about her, he does it as if he were talking about anything else, without showing conviction", because "whoever has fought for gender equality has always been the PSOE".
