Yolanda Díaz describes Feijóo's meeting with prosecutors as "serious" and asks for "answers" about its content

MADRID, 3 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has described as "serious" the meeting held last April by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, with members of the Association of Prosecutors (AF) -the majority in the fiscal career- and has demanded explanations about its content.

The meeting was actually a dinner that took place on April 18 in Madrid. As 'El Mundo' revealed days later, Feijóo ruled out renewing the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) before the end of this legislature, to which 'El País' added yesterday that some prosecutors encouraged the 'popular' leader to repeal several laws of the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

For Díaz, if the content of that meeting is true, he finds it serious and has attacked that "mandates" relating to the judiciary are being violated, without going into more detail, and answers are required about what was addressed to public opinion.

Feijóo defended on Tuesday that said dinner was "absolutely correct and institutional", detailing that in it he advocated the "independence of prosecutors". From the Government, by contrast, the Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, called the meeting "very serious" and accused the PP of "maneuvering in the dark" with the Judiciary.

In statements to the media when attending the institutional act organized by Congress for the visit to Spain of the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, the Vice President has avoided commenting on yesterday's controversy by not allowing it by the Community's protocol service from Madrid the presence of the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, at one of the acts of 'Dos de Mayo'.

And it is that Díaz has conveyed that it would be good to assume solutions to the problems of public health and housing, which are the issues that interest the people of Madrid.
