The US president affirms that China has "real problems"

The president of China, Xi Jinping, arrived this Tuesday in the city of San Francisco (United States), where he will meet with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, in order to reduce political and economic tensions between the parties.

Xi, who will be there until November 17, will speak with Biden within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Community (APEC) meeting in what is their first meeting since November 14, 2022 in Indonesia, taking advantage of the attendance of both leaders at a G20 summit, as confirmed by the Chinese state news agency Xinhua.

For his part, Biden stated this Tuesday during a fundraising event, on the eve of the meeting, that China has "real problems."

"President Xi is another example of how the restoration of American leadership is taking hold in the world. You have real problems, friends," the American president declared.

The Chinese president was received at the San Francisco International Airport by the governor of the state of California, Gavin Newsom, and by the Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, and other US officials.

Previously, Biden conveyed his desire that this meeting serve to resume mutual contact after relations between both nations have gone through ups and downs, especially after Washington denounced the presence of an alleged Chinese spy balloon in its airspace or because of the samples of White House support for Taiwan, which China considers its own territory.
