MADRID, 3 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -
Podemos, Izquierda Unida and its coalition of Unidas Podemos have been left out of the distribution of electoral propaganda spots that RTVE will broadcast in its state-wide programming during the local election campaign on May 28, according to the plan that the corporation has presented to the political parties.
In this proposal, to which Europa Press has had access, RTVE offers a series of slots in its national programming to broadcast free electoral propaganda announcements of about 30 seconds on its La 1 and La 2 channels and on Radio Nacional and Radio 5.
To distribute this space, the results of the last local elections and the requirement of having presented a candidacy for constituencies with more than 50% of the legal population have been taken into account, and the corporation only contemplates the PSOE and the PP, with 45 minutes each; Ciudadanos, with a total of 30 minutes, and Vox, for which 15 minutes are reserved.
In total, 68 minutes of spots will be seen on La 1 during the electoral campaign -in six slots a day of half a minute, one minute or a minute and a half-, of which only 12.5 minutes will be broadcast in 'prime time' ' (between 10 and 11 p.m.). For La 2 another 67 minutes are reserved.
Another 15 minutes have also been planned for blocks of electoral propaganda at the regional level for the parties that exceeded 20% in their community, which will allow the broadcast of spots from the PRC in Cantabria, from Bildu in Navarra, from the PNV and Bildu in Euskadi, and the PSC and ERC in Catalonia.
As regional elections are also held on May 28, the regional programming of these communities will also broadcast electoral advertisements, although a reduction in blocks has been planned given that the disconnection offer available on RTVE is limited: a total of 37 minutes from Monday to Friday on La 1 and just over 170 minutes on RNE and Radio 5.
