Vox seeks that the Government quantify what was "squandered" by the 'Mediator' plot and purify responsibilities

Vox wants the Government to detail the public funds that have been "squandered" in corruption cases, especially those linked to the PSOE, and particularly in the 'Mediator' plot, to ensure their reimbursement and to clarify responsibilities.

This is stated in the motion registered by the Santiago Abascals, derived from the interpellation that on this matter the general secretary of Vox in Congress, José María Figaredo, addressed last Wednesday in Congress to the Minister of Finance and Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE, Maria Jesus Montero.

The motion, collected by Europa Press, will not be debated in plenary until the last week of March. In it, Vox proposes that the Chamber urge the Executive to promote the "search, examination, inspection, tracking, return and reimbursement of public funds linked to corruption schemes, with special attention to those that "affect members of the PSOE".

At the same time, he demands "to purify the pertinent political responsibilities", in particular for the 'Mediator' plot, which was allegedly led by the former deputy of the Canarian PSOE Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, nicknamed 'tito Berni'.

Likewise, it requests the Government to promote the necessary mechanisms to guarantee that the management of public funds is protected against any form of corruption, among others, the recovery of the penalties provided for the crime of embezzlement before its recent reform.
