The Government of Ukraine affirms that its troops still control areas located in the southwestern part of the city of Bakhmut, with "slight advances" also on several flanks, days after the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, publicly proclaimed that the Russian forces they have completely taken over this symbolic enclave located in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar has reported on Telegram that Russia's offensive actions have decreased "a bit" in recent hours, despite the fact that the level of bombing continues to be "high". According to kyiv, the Russian forces accumulate "great losses", although there is no independent verification of what is happening on the ground.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces, for their part, have confirmed in their daily report that Bakhmut continues to be one of the "epicenters of the fighting." Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has denied that his troops have lost control of the area, where mercenaries from the Wagner Group, loyal to the Kremlin, have also been present.
