MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The authorities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have assured this Wednesday that the much-announced counter-offensive will begin "soon", once, they have said, it has a "minimum of weapons", although they predict that it will last a long time for what they have asked their international partners not to stop arming them.
"Many civilians are still under Russian occupation, and no more time can be lost. A minimum of minimum weapons is already available. All I can say is that it will start soon," the head of the intelligence services of the Russian Federation has advanced. Defense, Kirilo Budanov, in an interview for the Japanese station NHK.
Thus, he has stressed that it is necessary for Ukraine to have "important reserves" of weapons to continue with the operation, although he is confident that the recent G7 summit held in Hiroshima has served for Kiev's partners to speed up all those mechanisms related to the supplies.
"We need more weapons," insisted Budanov, who has said that he hopes that "the international community is ready to really help Ukraine in this counteroffensive," since "intense fighting" could take place over a "long period of time" due to the defense capabilities of Russia.
What will not have a "relevant" role during the next counteroffensive will be the long-awaited F-16 combat aircraft, as assured by the Pentagon spokesman, Pat Ryder, who has lowered the expectations of the Ukrainian side, assuring that the delivery of these fighters "are a long-term commitment."
