UK believes one of Russia's main elite forces lost half its men by 2022

MADRID, 6 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Intelligence services of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom have indicated this Sunday that one of the main elite forces of the Russian Army would have lost at least half of the 30,000 paratroopers that it has deployed in Ukraine during 2022.

London has echoed a video, later withdrawn from the official channels of the Russian Defense Ministry, in which General Mikhail Teplinski highlighted to encourage the troops that 8,500 paratroopers despite being injured have expressed their intention to continue in the forehead.

The video was recorded on the occasion of the celebrations on August 2 for the Day of the Russian Airborne Forces, which, the United Kingdom points out, "were overshadowed by the apparently unauthorized disclosure" of the extent of the casualties it has suffered this elite force in Ukraine.

The British authorities have pointed out that although Teplinski did not comment on how many soldiers would have died or how many were seriously wounded so as not to be able to return to the front, if these figures of 8,500 wounded paratroopers are extrapolated, the assessment is that "at least 50 percent of the 30,000 paratroopers who deployed to Ukraine in 2022 have been killed or injured."
