UCAM Murcia defeats Lenovo Tenerife with authority after a great second half

MADRID, 6 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

UCAM Murcia prevailed (85-64) this Friday against Lenovo Tenerife, a duel corresponding to matchday 14 of the Endesa League and in which the locals completed an outstanding second half to give their followers their seventh Three Kings Day victory in the competition, with up to four players with double digits in scoring.

The university team's victory was about the rebound, since they captured 50 balls (20 in attack) throughout the game to 'dry' the offensive capacity of the people of Tenerife. UCAM Murcia put on a very physical match and surprised the visitors, who completed one of their worst games of the season.

Nemanja Radovic (16 points), Thad McFadden (13), Ilimane Diop (12) and Travis Trice (11) stood out in a widely distributed score for Sito Alonso's men. After a rather poor start in both baskets and with the protagonism of the defenses, Lenovo Tenerife found in Marcelinho Huertas (19 points, top scorer of the game) their great asset, to take off in the first quarter (13-18).

Very powerful on the rebound, UCAM Murcia was unable to impose that superiority on the scoreboard, with a Tenerife that withstood the onslaught of the locals, much more plugged in. Thus, it was reached with maximum equality (29-30). It was from then on that Sito Alonso's team 'exploded' with eight consecutive points from McFadden, although with the islanders still hooked on the game.

Already in the last quarter, which started with the locals ahead (58-49), the best inertia of UCAM Murcia was confirmed, reaching a 10-point lead. An advantage that they knew how to manage and even expand to end up scoring 56 points throughout the second half of the game. The victory leaves the Murcians settled in the middle of the table (7-7) and caressing the top places, while Lenovo Tenerife adds its second league defeat away from home and is fifth.
