At least two civilians have died this Friday in an attack carried out from Ukraine against the Russian region of Belgorod, located on the common border, as confirmed by the Russian authorities, who have accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of firing artillery against several localities.

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine have fired at a point on the highway in the town of Maslova Pristan, in the Shebekino district. Fragments of the projectile hit cars passing through the area," Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. which has added that "two women who were traveling in one of them died instantly".

Likewise, it has specified that two other people who were traveling in a second vehicle have been injured by the impact of shrapnel, while it has reported that the Ukrainian forces have also fired artillery against the towns of Tishanka, in the Volokonovski district, and Leonovka, in the Valuiski district.

The Belgorod region has been the target of various attacks by Ukrainian forces since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, including two ground assaults in recent days that Moscow blames on Ukraine and which have been claimed by militant groups. opponents of the Kremlin.
