The RFEF denies that Rubiales hatched a plan to pay commissions to Piqué for the Super Cup

MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Royal Spanish Football Federation has described as "absolutely false" that its president, Luis Rubiales, hatched a plan to pay a commission of 24 million to the Kosmos company owned by former soccer player Gerard Piqué for the celebration of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia .

Before the publication by the newspaper 'El Mundo' of the news of this plan for the payment of commissions to Piqué, the federative body pointed out that "it is absolutely false that the RFEF and its president had prepared a plan to pay commissions to the company Kosmos by the public company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Super Cup".

In a statement, the RFEF added that the author of the report of the General Intervention of the State Administration (IGAE) issues a "personal opinion without the slightest legal justification and without any evidence." "It is pure speculation, the lack of rigor and validity of which will be duly accredited in court," he pointed out.

In addition, the federation recalled that according to Spanish legislation, the IGAE "lacks powers within the framework of a private agreement signed by a private entity", and considered it "very serious" that whoever has prepared the report "obvious" the existence of a contract between the Ministry of Sport of Saudi Arabia and the company Kosmos.

Likewise, the body chaired by Luis Rubiales denounces that the Ministry of Saudi Arabia is accused "of having falsified said agreement with the Kosmos company and that they have been paying improperly", as well as calling it "ridiculous" to speak of "hiding" said agreement between the RFEF and the Arab public company.

Likewise, he stressed that the Court of Majadahonda (Madrid) has adopted a secrecy resolution of the proceedings due to their reserved nature in this procedural phase. "The RFEF is aware that judicial times are slow and journalistic times are very fast, but once again reiterates its trust in Justice and expresses its confidence that the correct federative action will be accredited," he concluded.
