Llull leads the Whites' reaction in the last quarter to win the Clásico and lead the Euroleague after extra time

MADRID, 26 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Real Madrid beat Barça (91-86) this Thursday on matchday 21 of the Euroleague, from less to more, as was the WiZink Center in a white Clásico that was decided in extra time, with the reaction led by Sergio Llull for the locals and sentenced by Musa, to stay at the top of the highest continental competition.

Chus Mateo's men simmered the duel against their eternal rival, a Barça that lacked punch when they had their rival touched. Madrid rose to life on the back of Llull, sustained itself with the character of Rudy Fernández, Tavares and Deck, and killed in extra time with points from Musa. A white combo to make it 14-7 and leave the Catalans behind in search of consolidating the project.

The fourth Clásico in four months caught more than one without the intensity it played. Even the Madrid public had a hard time getting into the atmosphere, surely caught by the time change after work and with that feeling that a thousand battles are going on. With the honor of the Palace at stake, it had to be Rudy, one of the few who can afford it, who caught the attention of the crowd.

It was near the break, when Madrid seemed to take the measure of the game and the noise was noticeable on the field. Mateo's men worked with the claw of the Balearic Islands and the step forward in defense, with the direction of Sergio Rodríguez and with a difficult Tavares to stop inside. Barça started better, with Satoransky already in tune after his injury, taking advantage of local losses (6-18).

Not even Mirotic heard the usual sound of wind, but 'Saras'' men lacked a fang to take advantage of a groggy Madrid. Musa, Deck and Tavares came to the rescue, as Sanli pardoned one visiting attack after another. Abrines' success was another stumbling block for the whites, when Rudy addressed the fans and fulfilled his part with an important three-pointer (26-30).

Madrid remained with more heart than game. Barça, with a clueless Higgins, had no continuity and was also entangled in losses, but a pair of three-pointers, Satoransky and Laprovittola, left him in command at halftime (32-39). The foreign success marked the return of changing rooms, with Barça also dominating that facet.

Kalinic scored two in a row, another 'Sato', and Madrid suffered another disconnection that did not kill the visiting team. Nnaji's defense against Tavares began to work and the script took on a Barça color with Mirotic putting the hit that did not smile at 'Lapro' (45-55). Those of Mateo returned to Rudy's fight, also successfully as his greatest adventure partner, a Llull and his tangerine.

The '23' tightened the scoring at the start of the last quarter with one of his long baskets and ignited the local reaction with the half-hearted attacks from Barça (57-61). With the defenses already at full capacity, each basket was a world in the last seven minutes. At 35, Llull showed strength and quality to never tire of fighting in the Classics and gave his team the first lead (69-67).

Mirotic made doubles and steps in two decisive attacks and Llull scored another that didn't count because the referee whistled for a foul earlier. The man from Mahón equaled it at 73 from the free kick, scored 15 points in the last quarter, and committed steps in the last one. Barça had possession to win but the Clásico requested an extension to remember that, no matter how many there are, it is a special game.

Musa took over the extra time, without energy in Jasikevicius' men or success, only the dropper of the free kick. The Bosnian culminated the effervescence of Madrid and the Palace, which ended up bouncing, to give Chus Mateo confidence that he can put together another champion team. Mirotic, despite everything, ended up as the best of a Barça that, with many minutes being better, allowed themselves to eat the toast.
