The PSOE does not mention the amnesty and accuses the PP of launching a "preventive attack" to divide the Spanish

He reproaches that an agreement for Sánchez's investiture was disqualified based on "alleged intolerable transfers"

The PSOE has avoided mentioning the amnesty during its intervention in the General Commission of Autonomous Communities, convened by the PP, to show its opposition to this measure demanded by the pro-independence parties. Instead, they have accused the PP of launching a "preventive attack" with this debate in the Senate, to divide the Spanish people.

"First they shoot just in case and then we look to see if the threats that had to be protected from were real," complained the PSOE spokesperson in this committee, Senator Juan Espadas, the only socialist who has spoken during the day, before the absence of members of the Government and regional presidents of this formation.

Despite the continuous references to the amnesty from 'popular' barons and senators and also from the president of Catalonia, Pere Aragonès, who has also participated in the commission, Espadas has avoided referring directly to this measure.

Furthermore, he has justified the absence of the socialists by pointing out that the PP uses its absolute majority in the Upper House to distort the Commission of Autonomous Communities. "And on top of that they want us to collaborate. No, it's not going to be like that," he defended.

Along the same lines, he has criticized that the PP convened this commission to talk about equality and solidarity among Spaniards but only listened to arguments to "disqualify" a possible agreement for Sánchez's investiture based on "alleged intolerable concessions" that the right uses. , as Espadas has pointed out.

He has also responded to demands for transparency regarding the negotiations between the PSOE and the independentists, pointing out that in the past, when the PP agreed with Catalan nationalists, they did not practice the transparency that they now demand.

"Were the Majestic meetings broadcast on TV3, were they a multi-lateral conversation or were they bilateral?" he asked sarcastically in reference to the agreement signed by the PP of José María Aznar and the Convergéncia y Unió led by Jordi Pujol after the general elections. of 1996.

Furthermore, the PSOE has insisted on the "use" of the institution by the PP during the period prior to Sánchez's investiture. "Can you imagine that the PSOE had registered a call in this commission during Mr. Feijóo's investiture period to talk about equality between women and men between territories of Spain?" he launched.

THE PP, ENEMY OF EQUALITY

"What would you have said about the use of this institution to boycott candidate Feijóo with spurious arguments or invented realities?" he then claimed.

Espadas, who made his intervention before the president of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, since the rest of the territorial leaders of the PP had previously left the room, has accused the popular party of sneaking in this debate "with hammer blows" instead of waiting for the debate of investiture, which at the moment has no date.

In the face of criticism from the PP, Espadas has maintained that the PSOE "is and will be the guarantor of the unity, plurality and constitutionality" of the territorial model in Spain and has defended that to reduce the inequality gap in the country, a Government chaired by Pedro Sánchez.

On the contrary, he has told the PP: "We can clearly infer that you and your policies are the worst enemy for equality." Furthermore, he has questioned the PP barons as to whether or not their policies, which depend on their powers, contribute to the advancement of equality in their territories "or on the contrary, they are an obstacle."
