The PP will take advantage of its majority in the Senate to process a law that eliminates the Inheritance Tax at the national level

It proposes that the central government financially compensate the CCAA for the elimination of this tax

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP will assert its absolute majority in the Senate to begin processing a bill that proposes the national suppression of the Inheritance and Donation Tax, after several autonomous communities have already ended this tax in their territories.

This is one of the first initiatives that the PP has registered in this legislature in the Senate, where they have an absolute majority, taking advantage of the tax reforms that their regional Executives are carrying out, which go directly to ending the Inheritance and Donation Tax .

In this context, those of Alberto Núñez Feijóo will ensure that they begin to process this bill in the Senate, to later send it to Congress and that it will be the parliamentary arithmetic of the Lower House that decides whether it is finally approved.

In any case, the 'popular' initiative, to which Europa Press has had access, directly proposes the suppression of the inheritance and donation tax at the national level, arguing that this tax "does not reach 1% of tax income": "So its elimination does not cause any type of unbearable damage to global revenue."

And within its proposal, the PP wants the central government to financially compensate the Autonomous Communities for the elimination of this tax with the amount collected by each regional Executive in the last fiscal year.

To calculate this, the necessary adjustments and corrections would be made to the system's resources so that the amount corresponding to the state compensation for the Inheritance and Donation Tax is equivalent to the value indicated for that last fiscal year, according to the PP.

All this would be done while the regional financing system is reformed.

This 'popular' bill comes after the new regional governments in the Balearic Islands, La Rioja, the Valencian Community and the Canary Islands have decided to apply several fiscal measures, such as this total bonus on the Inheritance and Donation Tax. Other 'popular' regions, such as Aragon and Cantabria, have opted to lower it.

These new regional Executives of the PP that came out of 28M have followed in this way other regional governments, such as those of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, Juanma Moreno and Fernando López Miras, and have decided to end the Inheritance and Donation Tax in advance of several measures fiscals for the next course.

In this context, the president of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, who governs with Vox in the region, assured during his investiture debate that the tax reduction will mark his mandate, starting with eliminating the Inheritance and Donation Tax.

The new Balearic president, Marga Prohens, has also already announced that she will give a 100% reduction in the Inheritance and Donation Tax for parents to children, grandparents to grandchildren and between spouses, and has reduced the Property Transfer Tax for the purchase of first homes for young people and people with disabilities.

The Government of La Rioja will also do so, with the 'popular' Gonzalo Capellán at the helm, which has eliminated the Inheritance and Donation Tax between parents and children and spouses, something that has been anticipated to be a first step in the tax reforms that it will attempt. undertake this legislature.

In the case of the Canary Islands, where CC and PP govern, tax reductions have also been applied, which include the bonus of the Inheritance and Donations Tax and the reduction of the fuel tax on the green islands.
