The PP has presented an appeal after filing its complaint with the Conflict of Interest Office against the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, for not recusing himself from the meetings of the Council of Ministers that approved the rescue of the airline Air Europa, given the "ties of an economic and professional nature" with that company of his wife, Begoña Gómez. Sources from the PP have indicated to Europa Press that if this appeal is rejected, the party will consider taking it to court through contentious-administrative channels, in this case before the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid.

In mid-March, the PP presented that complaint to the Interests Office to determine the responsibility of the President of the Government in the event that he had not been absent, or inhibited, from the Councils of Ministers of November 3, 2020 and the March 16, 2021 in which "decisions were made favorable to a company that had ties of an economic and professional nature with his wife."

Sources from the PP have confirmed to Europa Press that the PP presented this appeal last week before the hierarchical superior of the Office of Conflicts of Interest (OCI), which is the Secretary of State for Public Function, according to 'El Confidencial'. .

The appeal argues that the Conflict of Interest Office "has not carried out the investigation and request actions requested by the PP in the complaint to resolve whether or not the President of the Government had to be absent or inhibit himself from the aforementioned Councils of Ministers and , if applicable, whether he complied with the duty of abstention".

The PP points out that these are actions that it should carry out in accordance with the provisions of Law 3/2015, of March 30, regulating the exercise of the high office of the General Administration of the State, as party sources have indicated to Europa Press.

The appeal "challenges the lack of effective and material action by the Conflict of Interest Office following the complaint filed by the Popular Party and requests that it be ordered to carry out the requested investigation."

It has also been appealed because "it is necessary to exhaust the administrative route to be able to present a contentious-administrative appeal; in this case, before the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) of Madrid, the same sources have added.

Sources from the PP have harshly criticized Pedro Sánchez's electoral tactics and the "mistake" that Pedro Sánchez has made with his letter to the citizens, since, in their opinion, the rule of law will continue to function.
