FIFA announced this Thursday that the Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will direct the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina that will be played next Sunday (4:00 p.m.) at the Lusail stadium, thus becoming the first referee from his country to whistle a final. of the World Cup.

His compatriots Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz will serve as assistant referees, the American Ismail Elfath will be the fourth referee and the Polish Tomasz Kwiatkowski will be in the VOR room, as the head of the VAR in the match; the Venezuelan Juan Soto as assistant; the American Kyle Atkins as the offside manager; and the Mexican Fernando Guerrero in support tasks.
