The perimeter of the Villanueva de Viver (Castellón) fire remains "very stable" after a night of reviewing critical areas

The perimeter of the fire declared last Thursday in Villanueva de Viver (Castellón) continues "very stable" after a night in which the troops who have worked in the extinction work have carried out "very selective" tasks of reviewing the terrain in the areas "more reviews".

First thing in the morning, around 7:00 a.m., there were no significant changes in the evolution of the fire in which the media deployed have been working in the "critical" point of the northern zone (Los Cantos) while the airborne actions on the CV-195 highway, which connects Montanejos-Montan, where there are still hot spots, as reported by 112 GVA.

In terms of resources, more than 500 troops and 50 trucks have been working overnight, distributed among different agencies and administration bodies, and the entry of 16 aerial means is expected in the morning.

According to the regional secretary for Emergencies, José María Ángel, the night has been "very calm", concentrated in the "hot spots" around the perimeter and preparing the work of the air forces, with allied meteorology.

However, for this Sunday a "very adverse" meteorology is expected, with temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees, which is not "good news because a reproduction can occur at any time." Therefore, the evolution of the fire will be "very conditioned" to that weather situation.

The burned hectares so far are still about 3,800 with an affected perimeter of approximately 40 kilometers. For this day, the pre-emergency level due to the risk of forest fires is extreme throughout the Valencian Community, a situation in which it is prohibited to light any fire, even if it was authorized in the Local Burn Plan.

The territorial delegation of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) anticipates that for this Sunday the weather conditions in the area of ​​the fire will be very adverse because it is estimated that the wind will be turning northwest since morning and intensifying, with gusts between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour.

This northwesterly wind is notably drier than the southerly breeze that has been blowing on Saturday, while the humidity forecast for 3:00 p.m. is below 30 percent, according to Aemet Comunitat Valenciana.
