The new Congress that emerged from the elections on July 23 will have an absolute majority of novice deputies and the groups with the greatest renewal in their ranks will be Sumar, with close to 71% of new members, and the PP, since 60.5% of its deputies will debut in these fights, including its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

According to the count carried out by Europa Press, more than half of the 350 seats will be occupied by people who have never before stepped foot in the Chamber. Specifically, there are 177 that will be released in this task on August 17, when the constitutive session is scheduled in which all those elected must swear or promise to abide by the Constitution to become de facto parliamentarians.

Of the total number of new deputies, 83 are from the PP, 54 from the PSOE, 22 from Sumar, eight from Vox, five belong to Junts, and ERC, PNV, Bildu, Unión del Pueblo Navarro (UPN) and Coalición Canaria (CC) will each have one a representative with no previous experience in the Carrera de San Jerónimo.

The Popular Group will be the most numerous and will experience a 60.5% renewal, since 83 of its 137 components are new, starting with what will be its president, the party leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

But, proportionally, the first parliamentary group with the most new faces will be Sumar, where there will be a 70.9% renewal rate compared to that of Unidas Podemos of the XIV Legislature. Of that conglomerate, only eight people repeat: the vice-president Yolanda Díaz herself; the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, and her companions Javier Sánchez Serna and Martina Velarde; the deputies of En Comú Aina Vidal and Gerardo Pisarello, the leader of IU Enrique Santiago and who served as secretary general of the confederal group, Txema Guijarro.

Among the new faces, the best known is that of the acting Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda and secretary of organization for Podemos, Lilith Verstrynge, who has been elected by Barcelona. In the Socialist Group, the renewal will be 44.6%, with 54 of its 121 new deputies, including several acting members of the Government, such as the ministers Raquel Sánchez and Diana Morant and the ministers Félix Bolaños, José Manuel Albares and Jose Manuel Miñones.

The former president of the Balearic Islands Francina Armegol will also have a seat for the first time in Congress; the former mayor of Toledo, Milagros Tolón; the former mayor of Valladolid Óscar Puente; and the former general director of the Civil Guard and former government delegate in Madrid, Mercedes González.

Another of those new to the post is Ada Santana, a 24-year-old deputy for La Palmas, who is emerging as one of the youngest people in the chamber and, therefore, a potential member of the Age Group that will direct the first section of the constitution session of the Chamber on August 17.

In Vox, eight of its 33 representatives will be new, 24.2%, including the party leader in the Valencian Community, Carlos Flores Juberías. On May 28, he was elected deputy in the Valencian Parliament, but ended up running as head of the list for Valencia in the general elections after the PP vetoed him to join the coalition government that he created with Vox for having been convicted of violence. sexist.
