The Secretary of State for Democratic Memory has initiated the procedure to open a file against the new Director General of Justice of the Government of Aragon, Esmeralda Pastor, and the Director General of Hunting and Fishing, Jorge Valero, for exalting Francoism on social networks, violating the Democratic Memory Law, according to 'Cadena Ser'.
Precisely, this Saturday the PSOE and Sumar have demanded Pastor's resignation for making "apology for Francoism" after a photograph of her with the Francoist flag behind her appeared on her social networks.
Pastor was proposed by Vox and appointed last Thursday, along with 26 other senior officials, as part of the government coalition agreement in Aragon between the far-right party and the Popular Party.
For its part, the PSOE has also demanded this day the dismissal of Pastor Jorge Azcón (PP), president of the community, for "not meeting constitutional values" and "flaunting Francoism."
In the case of Jorge Valero, the Democratic Memory Law would be applied to him for praising Millán Astray, Francoist general and founder of the Legion, Ser quotes.
