The Government highlights that Brussels confirms the fiscal path presented by Spain, with a deficit of 3% in 2024

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has highlighted this Tuesday that Brussels has confirmed the fiscal path presented by Spain, which contemplates placing the public deficit at the limit of 3% in 2024.

According to Nadia Calviño's department, the report published this Tuesday by the European Commission after the economic imbalance procedure anticipates that in 2024 Spain will form part of the group of countries (of which Germany, France and Portugal are also part) "that do not present macroeconomic imbalances, for the first time since 2012".

Additionally, highlights Economía, a "structural change" is taking place in the Spanish economy, since the investments and reforms of the Recovery Plan are transforming the Spanish economy in the medium and long term, with an increase in potential growth and a decrease in unemployment structural.

Economy assures that the fiscal responsibility of the Government and the growth forecasts of the Spanish economy "guarantee the sustainability" of the public accounts in the coming years, and recalls that the Stability Program includes the advance to 2024 of the reduction of the deficit to 3 % of GDP and debt below 110% of GDP.
