The Government assures that "never before" in Spain has so much been invested in water infrastructure

MADRID, 3 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister Spokesperson for the Government, Isabel Rodríguez, has assured that "never before in Spain" has "so much" been invested in water infrastructure to guarantee responding to the particular needs of the primary sector through desalinated, reused or purified water.

This has been guaranteed by Rodríguez during the press conference after the Council of Ministers, in which he has defended that it is "a fact" that this Government has set infrastructure investment policies as a priority to alleviate the effects of the drought and to guarantee water "forever", taking into account not only meteorology but also science and all the technical advances that occur in this field like no other.

In this sense, he added that a total of 6,500 million euros of investments have been planned that are "effectively" being carried out and with respect to which he affirms that the pace of execution has "accelerated". However, he has recalled that some actions are carried out through transfers to the autonomous communities, execution competence.

On the other hand, he has pointed out that the execution of the actions within the framework plan of actions in the Doñana National Park and its surroundings, which contemplates 354 million euros, has reached approximately 90 percent execution.

Rodríguez recalled that last week the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, reported on the Government's investments not only to alleviate the drought but also on all those that have to do with water policy, both those that depend on his department and those of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
