The Generalitat orders a report to terminate the contract from the company that coordinated the oppositions

Plaja claims that the Government "does not consider" Vilagrà resigning

BARCELONA, 2 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government spokesperson, Patrícia Plaja, explained that the Generalitat has commissioned a report from the legal services to terminate the contract with the company in charge of controlling the logistics of the opposition exams this Saturday, after the incidents that occurred.

In the press conference after the Consell Executiu on Tuesday, Plaja stated that the company had been assigned the coordination of other selection processes, but that the Generalitat "will not allow" it to assume these functions again.

"The Generalitat will not allow it to resume functions for which it has been amply demonstrated that it cannot carry out with the rigor and professionalism required," the spokesperson argued.

Plaja added that, with this report, the Government wants the company to "assume the consequences" and not shy away from responsibilities.

He has denied that a hypothetical termination of the contract affects the schedule of future tests: "The tests that are not related to those of this weekend will not be postponed."

Asked about the Government's reasons for outsourcing the logistics of these exams, Plaja stressed that "a significant bulk" of the 500 interim volunteers who usually coordinate these tests participated in this selection process.

"The problem is not going to look for a logistics services company, but that the company has not been up to the task", and he recalled that it was an exceptional call in which 72 simultaneous tests were carried out in which more than 13,500 people.

Plaja explained that the cost of organizing this and two other macro-oppositions this year amounts to 1.4 million: "The company has had the decency not to present any invoice."

The Government spokesperson has also apologized to the opponents on behalf of the Generalitat and has admitted that the dismissal of the already former director general of Public Function Marta Martorell is explained because "supervision and control" of the company has failed.

In addition, La Plaja has assured that the resignation of the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, "is not considered" and has said that she will appear as soon as possible, in her words.
