The Executive doubles its presence in the PSOE Executive with the incorporation of Puente, Hereu, Sáiz and Redondo

Four ministers are going to join the Federal Executive Commission of the PSOE, so that the Government's presence in this party body will almost double, unless the departures are finalized. They are the heads of Transportation and Mobility, Óscar Puente; Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Sáiz; Industry and Commerce, Jordi Hereu and Equality, Ana Redondo.

The four ministers will join at the proposal of the Executive itself, although the decision must be ratified this Sunday, January 21, by the Federal Committee that meets in A Coruña and which must also name the new spokesperson for the party.

In this way, the number of ministers included goes from five to nine, pending the departures being finalized, which will be announced in the coming days. There will be no expansion of the current composition of the Executive, which will maintain the same number of members, about forty, according to socialist sources.

At this time, the first vice president and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Pilar Alegría, are already part of it; the Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant; and the Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, as well as the Secretary General and President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Several former Sánchez ministers are also part of the current staff of the Commission, such as Carolina Darias, former head of Health who left the position to run in the municipal elections on May 28 and is now mayor of Las Palmas.

The same thing happens with the head of Culture and Sports until just two months ago, Miquel Iceta, who left the Government in the remodeling that Sánchez made for the new legislature and has been named ambassador to UNESCO, based in Paris.

The Executive changes seek to unify the organic responsibilities with those carried out in the current Government, according to the PSOE. In this way, the ministers who are part of the Executive will assume the secretaries that agree with the ministries they direct.

They will become official this Sunday in the aforementioned Galician city, where the PSOE is holding the Political Convention throughout the weekend in which they will undertake the updating of the programmatic lines for the next four years of the legislature.

The event is configured around nine panels and three discussion forums, which will have a total of 40 speakers and moderators, including the former president of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and the presidents of Asturias, Adrián Barbón and Navarra, María Chivite . The president of Castilla La Mancha, Emiliano García Page, will not attend because he is traveling in China until early Saturday morning.
