The BNG achieves an unprecedented result and will have a group with 25 deputies, of which 14 will be women

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The BNG has achieved an unprecedented result with 25 deputies in the regional elections, which means going from a group of 19 parliamentarians, after what already represented a promotion and historic ceiling, to increasing by six more representatives. Fourteen women and eleven men, from various professions such as teachers, lawyers, health professionals, engineers or cultural activists, will make up the second parliamentary group in the Galician chamber, with 16 more representatives than the socialists. They are the following:

1. Ana Pontón --Sarria (Lugo), 1977-- has been the national spokesperson for the BNG since February 2016 and since 2001 she has occupied the first political line of the frontist formation. She has a degree in Political Science, mother of a four-year-old girl, she has been a member of Parliament in the last five legislatures, when in 2004 she took possession of the record, replacing Pilar García Negro. This is the third time that she has led the BNG list for the Presidency of the Xunta after becoming leader of the opposition in 2020.

2. Mercedes Queixas Zas --A Coruña, 1968--. Writer and public education worker, she also assumed the general secretariat of the Association of Writers in Lingua Galega. Between 2007 and 2010 she was coordinator of the linguistic normalization teams dependent on Linguistic Policy. Since 2018, she has been a corresponding member of the RAG and has been a councilor in A Coruña and a member of the Parliament of Galicia this last term.

3. Rosana Pérez Fernández --A Pobra do Caramiñal, 1964 --. She was a deputy in Congress in the 2011-2016 legislature, replacing Francisco Jorquera. She is an Education official, she is part of the National Council. She has been a deputy this last term.

4. Ramón Tomé Fernández Alfonzo 'Mon' --Ferrol--. Leader of the CIG-Industry, linked to the naval conflict. He was a deputy of the Galician Chamber in the last legislature.

5. Daniel Pérez López --Carballo--. He is a lawyer and councilor in this municipality and has been a parliamentarian in the Galician Chamber in the last legislature.

6. Iria Carreira Pazos --Compostela-A Barcala-Land of Ordes--. Resident doctor. Representative in the Parliament of Galicia in the last legislature.

7. Óscar Ínsua Lema --Costa da Morte--. You are a lawyer.

8. Iria Taibo Corsanego --A Coruña--. Translator and freelancer.

9. Xosé Manuel Golpe --Ferrolterra--. Technician specializing in renewable energy.

1. Olalla Rodil --Ribeira de Piquín (Lugo), 1989--, ran as head of the Congress list in the two general elections prior to the 2016 regional elections, when she became a regional deputy. She has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations and has a master's degree in International Studies. She served as editor of Sermos Galiza.

2. Daniel Castro Garcia -- Ribadeo. Student of Galician Language and Literature and graduate in Foreign Languages. He is a member of the national board of Galiza Nova.

3. Carme Aira Díaz --Lugo--. Regional secretary of the CIG-Saúde.

4. Mario Outeiro Iglesias --The Corgo--. Public education worker. It is part of the National Council.

1. Noa Presas --Ourense, 1987--, has a degree in Galician and Romance Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela and worked as a linguist, teacher and teleoperator. She attended Congress as the head of the list in the last two general elections.

2. Iago Tabarés Pérez-Piñeiro --Ourense--. A lawyer by profession, he was already a deputy of the Parliament of Galicia between 2005 and 2009. Leader of the PNG, he had distanced himself from the BNG until he returned to be a candidate in the general elections for the province of Ourense.

3. Sonia Vidal Lamas --Arnoia-A Limia--. Livestock She is the councilor of the Block in Xunqueira de Ambia.

4. Secundino Fernández --Monterrei and Viana--. Forestry Engineer and agricultural technician. He was mayor of the BNG in Viana do Bolo.

1. Luís Bará --Vilaboa (Pontevedra), 1965--. He was bipartite general director of Culture (2005-2009), and has participated in initiatives on historical memory. He has been councilor in Pontevedra and deputy in the last few legislatures.

2. Montse Prado --Cambados (Pontevedra), 1965--, was part of the first national leadership of Galiza Nova and was a councilor in Cambados between 1991 and 2005, the year in which she was appointed delegate of the Department of Innovation in Pontevedra. After the regional elections of 2009, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the CRTVG. In the term she is ending, she was vice president of Parliament.

3. Alexandra Fernández Gómez --Vigo--. Architect. She was a deputy for En Marea in the Congress of Deputies, where she participated in the investigation commission of the Angrois accident and joined the ranks of the BNG in the last legislature, in which she defended housing policies. In the last four years she also became a mother.

4. Paulo Ríos Santomé 'Kai' --Moaña--. Xeral Secretary of Galicia Nova. Member of the National Council.

5. Carmela González Igrexas --Vigo--. Xunta worker and neighborhood movement activist. She was a deputy in the Parliament of Galicia in the last legislature.

6. Cristina Fernández Davila --O Condado-A Paradanta--. A public education worker, she was a deputy in the last legislature, after the elections of May 28, replacing Manuel Lourenzo (now mayor of Soutomaior).

7. Brais Ruanova Boasvilas --Vigo--. Chemical engineer.

8. Ariadna Fernández González --Tabeirós--. Veterinary and cultural activist. Concejala del BNG in Lalín.
