The Association of Prosecutors censors the "political use" of the meeting with Feijóo and frames it as normal

He says they are "smoke screens" against the demands of judges and prosecutors at the compensation table that is held tomorrow

The Association of Prosecutors (AF) has rejected this Tuesday through a statement the "political use" of the meeting that the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, carried out with prosecutors affiliated with the majority conservative association and has framed said meeting in the normality that the Association has been organizing with various guests.

Thus, the AF has stressed that these meetings between associates and different personalities from the country's legal, political, intellectual and cultural spheres have been organized since 2017 with the aim of "promoting mutual knowledge through debate that is not subject to more restraint than the respect inherent in any project of dialogue and typical of people who make the word the instrument to build arguments and means for the exhibition and expression of thought".

Likewise, in the statement collected by Europa Press, AF assures that these meetings never "disguise it as an alibi at the service of spurious and unreasonable interests" and mentions that in October of last year a meeting was held in Madrid with the deputy spokesperson for Ciudadanos in Congress, Edmundo Bal and recently another with Feijóo.

In this sense, the Association explains that "perhaps the fact that such meetings are held in public establishments has given rise to confusion about their purely private nature" and that only members of the Association of Prosecutors and the particular person around whom the event revolves.

At this point, and being aware of the notoriety of the meeting with the opposition leader, the AF has indicated its rejection of "any attempt to use politically" the activities carried out by the Association of Prosecutors. "If with this it is intended to act as a drawing pen, without a doubt, to draw the Association of Prosecutors as a parallel line of a specific political party, the reality of things shows that the extremes that do not favor such a position and that expose the strategy", denounces.

For this reason, in the statement, the AF relates the controversial meeting with Feijóo with the existing clash between Justice in relation to the call for a strike for next May 16.
