Tens of thousands of people demonstrate this Saturday in the eight Andalusian provinces under the slogan 'Health is not for sale' for a "strong and solid" primary care and a "public, efficient and equitable" health system.

The Andalusian Coordinator of Mareas Blancas, convener of the protests, seeks to convey to the Andalusian Government "that we are not willing to resignedly contemplate how they dismantle the public, universal, accessible, free, equitable, supportive and of the highest quality health system".

During the protest, slogans such as 'Health is not sold, it is defended', 'No to privatization, yes to public health', or 'primary care is a priority' were heard.

Thus, according to the estimates of the National Police in the different Andalusian provinces in Granada the White Tides have brought together 20,000 protesters, while in the capital of Malaga 8,000 people have participated. In Seville, the estimate in the health protest is 6,000 protesters.

In Jaén, the agents estimate a participation of 3,000 people and in Cádiz 3,800, a figure that reaches 5,000 in the Huelva capital, while in Almería 1,300 protesters have marched from Puerta Purchena.

Already in Córdoba, the demonstration, which began at the Avenida de América Health Center, has involved 3,600 people according to the Police and 10,000 according to the organizers.

Leaders of different left-wing political formations have traveled to different parts of Andalusia to support the demonstrations against the "privatization" of private healthcare.

Thus, the general secretary of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas, has participated in the protest in Jaén, while the spokesperson for Adelante Andalucía, Teresa Rodríguez, and the member of Podemos and deputy spokesperson for the parliamentary group For Andalusia, Juan Antonio Delgado, They have attended the concentration of Cádiz.

The demonstration in the Seville capital was attended by the president of Más País Andalucía and deputy spokesperson for the parliamentary group Por Andalucía, Esperanza Gómez; the spokesperson for the parliamentary group For Andalusia, Inma Nieto, and the parliamentary spokesperson for Adelante Andalucía, José Ignacio García. The coordinator of IU Andalucía, for his part, has participated in the concentration of Malaga.

In a telematic press conference a few days ago to present the marches, the spokesman for the Andalusian Coordinator of White Tides, Antonio Vergara, assured that the claims "are well-founded and are not slogans" and made it clear that they do not represent the interests of any political party , but "the demand for rights for the Andalusians".
