Telefónica begins the commercialization of its fiber to the room (FTTR) throughout Spain

MADRID, 3 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

This Wednesday, Telefónica began marketing its fiber to the room ('fiber to the room' or FTTR, for its acronym in English) throughout Spain, so the operator is thus expanding the initial offer launched last December and was only available for Madrid and Barcelona, as reported by the company in a statement.

In this way, the service is available to existing 'miMovistar' and 'Fusión' customers and can be requested both online and in Movistar stores, while the cost is 9.90 euros per month (VAT included and independently of the contracted package) and the registration fee is 120 euros.

The company has highlighted that this service is "unique in the Spanish market" thanks to the latest fiber optic and Wi-Fi technology and that it guarantees ultra connectivity in all rooms of the home.

"'Movistar FTTR Fiber' ensures total coverage in every corner of the home, allowing the simultaneous use of multiple devices with minimal latency, maximum speeds of up to 1 Gbps (gigabit per second) and continuous monitoring of the network." 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with optimal performance," the operator has assured.

On the other hand, Telefónica has also stressed that the installation of this service is carried out without work at home using a "thin transparent fiber cable" that is "practically invisible" and that adheres to any surface without affecting the aesthetics of the home.

"Specifically, this installation connects several secondary WiFi access points using a transparent and flexible fiber optic cable. This ultra-fine thread guarantees maximum speed, quality and continuity of the signal," he added.

Last December, Telefónica highlighted that the launch of this service responds to the constant growth of data traffic and the number of devices, which is why it adapts to the needs of users who want to have "ultra connectivity without limitations due to space, devices or speed." ".

The telecom also highlighted that FTTR fiber is "ideal for all types of homes", especially for "medium and large" ones with a "complex distribution" or for those customers with great interest in advanced network features (teleworking or gamers). ', among other profiles).
